Dr. Robert B. Peak
A patient once told me, “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could.” Well, that is true of me as well. After finishing high school here, graduating from the University of Texas, and marrying a Texan, I knew I was hooked. After attending the University of Tennessee for my surgical residency, I was fortunate to land in Fort Worth in 1994. Fort Worth offered the big city culture with a small town ambience, and was filled with a caring and generous spirit, one that I hoped to follow in my practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. I bring twenty plus years of experience and expertise to each and every patient; however, I also bring humility and compassion, treating each individual as I would treat a family member.
Practicing in Fort Worth has allowed me to assist with community outreach programs such as All Church Home for Children, Save a Smile and the Salt and Light Dental clinic, which I helped establish over a decade ago. In addition, I am only of one of a handful of oral surgeons in the area participating in trauma call at Harris Methodist Fort Worth and Cook Children’s Medical Center, wherein I am also director of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Collaboration, correspondence and education with my medical and dental colleagues is essential, and I feel these are strong reasons why I share their respect and feel honored that I have been voted consistently as a “Top Doc” in the community many years running.
Board certification is the culmination of hard study and dedication in our profession, and I achieved the status of fellow in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 1996. Not one to rest on my laurels, I maintain my studies with active continuing education as well as teaching. Twice monthly I donate my time to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at Baylor Dental, attending grand rounds with the residents and instructing the dental students in the oral surgery clinic.
Oral surgery offers the beauty of restoration of function and form, and I never tire of these moments when my team can make a difference in someone’s life. I don’t take this charge lightly and am sincere when I say it is a privilege to treat you.
